Own Your Truth Podcast

Aug 30, 2018

From dancing on the cement floors of a makeshift studio in her hometown of Texas, to earning her Masters in Broadcast Journalism from USC, Maritza Navarro is a creator, a dancer, and a journalist with a unique talent for crafting real stories into moving ideas.

She is a story producer for a Viceland documentary series on alternative cures for mental health issues, and her recent short film "Space for Growth (and Cuts)" Won Best LGBTQ Film at the 2018 Paris Short Film Festival & Special Mention at the 2018 March on Washington Film Festival.

But beyond her accomplishments, and creative highlights, Maritza has also been the choreographer of her own lifelong dance with anxiety.

This interview was one of those rare and sacred moments in my life, as it was an opportunity to connect with Maritza, and just be in the presence of someone who is being so courageous, and so vulnerable that you can't help but to reflect on your own life, and become inspired by her resilience, and how she discovered her inherent strength from her greatest hardships.

I hope you enjoy Episode 1 of Own Your Truth with Maritza Navarro. The innovator, movement maker, and mental health advocate, who is raising awareness, and providing a unique insight into the pervasiveness of anxiety.
